Final post

During this course I have learned so many different things as a future educator using technology in the classroom though there is so much more to learn at the same time.  For example, how to make a blog and using digital equipment in the classroom such as a ipad, or a cell phone.  Using digital resources to to have children learn about different things in a fun manor such as a online game or a online learning tutorial for kids.  example would be  for each is for the game you can do funbrain, or abyca.  I like the fact that you can also embed links into just about anything  and use that to assist with your lesson  plans.  If you have a special needs child or a child with a learning disability you must modify your lessons or get special equipment so they may have a chance to learn as well. As for a online lesson plan or also known as a web quest for kids to be able to do it themselves you can create one at zunal, I created one on the rainforest.  This keeps their interest of wanting to find out more about something you are introducing.  After introducing a subject and working on it you can  take a field trip. Though instead of taking a actual field trip to say the rainforest, you can actually take a virtual field trip from the classroom live or watch one from a previous session.  To do testing, to see if the student has learned anything  you can also use fun test sites such as kahoot to do it. I also learned to do teamwork, though each of us have different way of doing things and we may not always agree we have to work through it and come up with a game plan to teach at the best of our abilities.

There are always many changes in the educational classroom where the learning takes place.  The technology integration and the educational changes are hand in hand to accomplish this.  This includes two ingredients which is a teacher's different style of teaching, and multiple pathways.  Multiple pathways are how the teacher uses it in the classroom.

Another learning issue is that of  digital inequalities and the participation gap.  For example if we have to add more computers to a classroom or let the student take it home, that doesn't mean that all those students will be able to access it the same way or not at all.  This will also lead to not being able to participate in group venues.

You can also do group interaction instead of doing a lecture have them involved in what your trying to teach so you know they are learning.

In the classroom you can go on virtual field trips, vitrual conferencing and even do virtual school online in the comfort of your own home.  Taking your class on a virtual field trip to say the Palace of Versailies on live tour is great because kids still get the opportunity to see and participate in it verses having to come up with expenses covered for a field trip to that extent.  It gives them a better context of things in place with the information that has been discusses.

Here is a great virtual tour to go on below.

The video above gives a great explanation how virtual conference also goes hand in hand with virtual tours and also eliminates some walls in educational expierences.

Virtual School has also helped alot of students in the past  as well as the future.

In the beginning of a becoming a teacher you are assessed by your piers and by your students.  Your supervisor or prinicipal may sit down in the class while you teach and observe you.  Your students will also assess you as per a survey at the end of the year with questions and then turned in for review by your prinicpal.

You can also make digital portfolios to look back on as well as show and share with your employer.

Being creative using multimedia technologies is just that.  You have to use a digital projector to use  power points, online writing websites, to get a child to learn or at very least be interested in the learning material.  You can also introduce say multiplication table and at home have them do online practice then come to work and do a group project.

In the classroom teachers communicate with text messaging, blogs, online discussions and Wikis.  These resources also allow collaborative learning which is working together as groups.  The teacher can also see where each student is as an individual.

As per the above video you can also teach students a problem online and they can learn from the comfort of their own home and is there for learning as a reminder.

There are all different types of teaching methods to have kids learn.  The way children are learning more and more are through technology such as virtual games, or simulation games and even through some video games.

When using the simulation games for example you want to also incorporate real live situations such as 3x5=15 but also make it were as long as they get the game right they get extra food, or time to build something.  Make it competitive but at the same time fun for them. virtual world game

Some students do not know what plagiarism is.  Plagiarism is copying off of someone and using it for yourself.  Majority of schools let alone teachers will either expel or give you a grade of 0 depending on the circumstances.

Encourage your students to use citations and give the original users credit where it is due.  Or have students use information and interpt the words into their own so it shows they understand the material.

Reflective Writing

We all like to be good writers at some point so this type of writing is more of a personal one.  We can write about our personnel experience with something or write about what we know and have learned.  We can also use hands on learning along with working in groups for reflective writing as well as cooperative learning.

There are a few things that I have learned and experienced in the classroom first would be the teacher's attitude.  What I mean by that is if they are not involved enough or make learning fun, interesting the majority of students will no longer be interested in class then their grades start to fall.

The second would be that the technology today catches students eyes and interest.  One just think no more heavy bag or book that most kids fall asleep or lose interest in.  Most schools have used technology such as computers or iphones and used communication via email, text or video chat.  Some students are doing a impeccable increase in learning and grades.  Some using learning software instead of the old fashion chalkboard.

The third would be that of digital divides and gaps.  There are those student's who can not afford learning materials upfront so offer a payment plan or rental option so the student can succeed in his or her path to education and then their mind is at ease an ready to learn.

How to blog
Reflecting on some of the learning methods that were shocking such as using a cell phone or an ipod in that matter for learning purposes.  In some of the days growing as a teenager we did use computers but never cell phones.  What I do like in the electronic world today for teaching is that there is a way to reach every child whether you can make a learning game so indirectly they are learning but from educational game that they are interested in.  What was also shocking is that most kids are using digital items such as a tablet before school age.  I like some of the indoor and outdoor classroom assignments an then you are able to incorporate them into both for you and the child to learn from it.  It also is great that even those these items are educational that they are offering college courses online so you may reach more students who do have a busy schedule and famalies to take take care of that they have the same opportunities that normally they would not have had.

I know my son had learning material he has to do online such as spelling city which is online and  also counts as a grade and yet its a game made fun for learning. They go over this in class every week of what was learned and what was not.  I am for the new technology, the electronic world to teach kids as well as adults who want to learn.  I love the fact that its just a click away for everything now and you save trees and animals homes by this method.
